Some wedding days are just easy. Easy because the love is real. Easy because no one’s pretending. Easy because the people involved show up as exactly who they are - and that’s more than enough.
That was Krista and Ross.
Krista walked through her day with absolute presence. Draped in her korowai, face soft and proud. A mix of strength and softness that stopped me in my tracks more than once. Ross was steady beside her - quietly holding space like he’d been doing it forever.
Tamariki ran free, the bridal party was on fire, the laughter was loud, and the tears came when they needed to. No filters. No fuss. Just whānau, aroha, and a hell of a lot of meaning.
We took portraits beside our awesome celebrants matte - black V8. The back bumper read Married With Metal, which honestly sums up the whole vibe. A little bit wild, a lot of soul, and zero bullshit.
Some of my favourite shots were the quiet ones - Krista wiping away tears before stepping out. A cheeky kiss behind the tin shed. A forehead pressed to a shoulder. You can’t pose that stuff. You just have to be there for it.
As a wedding photographer in Levin, I get to witness some pretty incredible love stories - but this one? This one hit different. It was raw and romantic, equal parts rebel and reverent. Just like them.
If you’re planning a wedding in New Zealand and want photos that feel like you - not super posed, not forced, just honest and full of heart - I’d love to chat. Whether your vibe is classic, wild, or something else, I’m here to capture the quiet moments, the big belly laughs, and everything in between.
So laugh hard. Hug soft. Cry if you need to.
Be fully in it.
And trust that I’ll be catching every second of it with heart, while you forget I’m even there.
Thanks Krista and Ross for letting me in. I’ll never forget it.
